　US - The US pork industry s top priority for the next Farm Bill is establishing a Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccine bank, the National Pork Producers Council told a House Agriculture subcommittee in testimony earlier this week. If this country ever had an FMD outbreak, it not only would devastate my farm and the whole livestock industry but the entire US economy, said NPPC Vice President David Herring, a pork producer from Newtown Grove, North Carolina, who testified on behalf of the organization before the agriculture panel s Subcommittee on Livestock and Foreign Agriculture.

美国国家猪肉生产商委员会向众议院的一个农业小组委员会表示，美国养猪业在下一部农场法案中的首要任务是建立一个口蹄疫疫苗储量库。国家猪肉生产商委员会副主席大卫 赫林(David Herring)作为一位来自北卡罗来纳州Newtown Grove地区的猪肉生产商，他将在农业委员会附属的畜牧与外国农业小组委员会作出决定前，代表猪肉生产商组织出庭提供需要这一措施的佐证。他说： 假如美国出现了全面的口蹄疫病情，它不仅会摧毁我的农场还会危害整个畜牧行业，甚至整个美国经济。
